Guest, DeAntwann "DJ" Johnson

DeAntwann "DJ" Johnson is a multifaceted educator and advocate, devoted husband and father, accomplished author, and the dynamic force behind DJ Inspires, LLC. His credentials extend from being a parenting and youth empowerment coach to a qualified counselor and astute sports statistician.
DJ's narrative resonates deeply within educational environments, making him an invaluable asset to institutions committed to holistic student well-being. DJ's journey is a testament to the transformative power of resilience and mentorship. Navigating a tumultuous upbringing that included nine arduous years in Indiana's foster care system, experiences of child abuse, domestic violence, and emotional trauma, he emerged not as a statistic but as a beacon of hope and empowerment.
DJ's most important role in life is being the best husband and father he can be for his family.
When he is not with his family, he is speaking and helping others. DeAntwann "DJ" Johnson is more than a speaker or a coach; he is a transformative experience waiting to happen. He embodies the promise of what education and mentorship can achieve, illuminating the path from adversity to excellence.
Today DJ serves students and their families to help break generational curses by encouraging them to “Change Their Narrative” a message that empowers young people to take ownership in telling the story they want to tell, not allowing others to tell it for them. We can take control of our narrative, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.
Born to 16 year old parents, DJ would be faced with unimaginable trauma early on in his life. His dad walked out of his life early on and his mother ultimately married a man who was very abusive. One summer day, DJ’s life changed forever. His brother ended up burning down their family apartment home and that led to months long homelessness. Not even a year later, drug addiction took over his mom and she wasn’t able to keep DJ or his siblings. DJ and his siblings went into the foster care system after that.
DJ'S COMPASSIONATE AND EMPATHETIC APPROACH TO YOUTH EMPOWERMENT MAKES HIM A HIGHLY SOUGHT-AFTER SPEAKER, MENTOR, AND EDUCATOR IN ACADEMIC SETTINGS.
There was a time when DJ considered ending it all; yet, a transformative realization steered him toward a greater purpose. Guided by mentors who saw the untapped potential within him, he rose above a life replete with challenges, overcoming humiliation, aggression, and self-esteem issues to become a stalwart advocate for youth.
