Audrey Callahan
Guest Occupation: Singer, Fill Producer
Guest Biography:

AUDREY CALLAHAN

Audrey was born in Long Beach, CA to a musical family. Because her family was military, she never stayed in one place for too long. Having lived in several countries by the time she was a teenager and going to 3 different high schools, this gave her a very broad and varied look into our world, its people and cultures.

One thing that was a staple during all this travel was her love for music. She began singing around the age of 2. Although this was her number one passion, she had reservations about pursuing it as a career because of the perceived difficulty and competitive nature of the music industry. As she grew older and more aware of her own personal power, she began to dive head first into making music her full-time career. Since then she has released several singles, an EP entitled ‘The Awakening’, attended her first Grammy Awards Ceremony and more importantly has finally stepped into living a life of true authenticity and purpose.

From this space of clarity and purpose, other areas of her life began to transform as well.

In 2017, her love of travel took on a new form. She and her husband decided to sell all of their worldly belongings and hit the road full time in an RV. For a year and a half, they traveled across the country, moving every couple of weeks doing impromptu fireside concerts and creating travel music videos along the way that they post to YouTube. This journey sparked the interest of a film company who reached out to Audrey and her husband in order to document their nomadic life (along with several others) for a full length feature film entitled RV Nomads.

More than ever Audrey has realized that whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. And no matter where her life takes her, one thing remains the same; she is inspired by producing meaningful content, making deep connections and helping others achieve their own level of personal greatness. She aspires to live a life based on love and compassion and share that message of positivity and growth with her audience far and wide.

A BLUES LIVING LEGEND

LATEST RELEASE

'THE GIBSON SESSIONS'

featuring

DICKIE BETTS,DEREK TRUCKS,DAVID HIDALGO,

AND JIMMY HERRING

Larry McCray's heart and soul are in the blues. Of that, there's no question. It's been 25 years -- award-winning ones at that -- of scalding-hot and tasteful blues from the Arkansas-born, Michigan-based singer, guitarist, bandleader, songwriter and heir apparent to a lineage that includes personal influences and heroes such as B.B. King, Freddie King, Albert King, all of whom he's had the chance to meet and play with. McCray's eight albums have blended reverence for that tradition with his own soulful spin on the form, and those achievements have been noted with an Orville H. Gibson Male Blues Guitarist of the Year award as well as the Top Guitarist prize in International Blues Matters' 2014 writer's poll. But there's a part of McCray here that has a rock 'n' roll beat too, and he's following that on his latest release,

THE GIBSON SESSIONS, a 12-song set featuring some of his personal favorites by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, ZZ Top, Gregg Allman, the Doobie Brothers, the Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival and others, with help from six-string brethren such as Allman Brothers Band co-founder Dickey Betts, Derek Trucks Los Lobos' David Hidalgo and Jimmy Herring "The blues is my favorite, for sure. I get more out of it, feeling-wise, but I've always been a rock 'n' roll fan and I've always tried to write music that was rock 'n' roll friendly," McCray explains. He adds THE GIBSON SESSIONS is as much a Larry McCray album as the 1990 or 91 debut AMBITION or any of the others that followed in its wake. "I always try to move forward and remember where I came from," McCray says. This album is a way to do these songs I love and maybe get them heard by people who like that music already, but do it in my own way so I can have some of my personality and self-identity within the music."

Make a point to see Blues sensation Larry McCray
as he celebrates his new release of “The Gibson Sessions”. This collection of classic songs will rock you to the core. The inclusion of guitar virtuosos Dickie Betts, Derek Trucks, David Hidalgo, and Jimmy Herring make this release a very special record. The vibe that’s been created makes this Blues compilation one of the best you could find in any corner of the world. Don’t miss the Larry McCray Tour when he comes to perform in a venue near you. You’ll have a night to remember.

THAT KILLED HIS BANDMATES

NEW MOVIE

Street Survivors:

The True Story Of  The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash

Based on his eyewitness and chain of events

Long considered the "wild man" of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Artimus Pyle's powerful and distinctive double bass drumming helped define the legendary Skynyrd sound.

Artimus got his first real break at the Charlie Daniels band's Volunteer Jam. His first recording lists -- Artimus Pyle, percussion. Then with other work for the Marshall Tucker Band, Artimus became known as a powerful session drummer.

Using his connections with Charlie Daniels and Marshall Tucker, both acts that toured often with Skynyrd, Artimus met with Ronnie VanZant and Ed King at Studio One in Doraville, Georgia. The results of that meeting -- Saturday Night Special -- greatly impressed Ronnie. Artimus' live debut with the band took place in Jacksonville's Sgt Pepper's Club in October 1974. The gig, a show to raise money and awareness for Jacksonville's food bank, was hot Everyone remembers the band walking through the front door and into a crush of people that doubled the legal occupancy of the club. Playing under the hot lights in an over-packed club with an underpowered air conditioner made for a memorable night When Bob Burns left the band permanently following Skynyrd's first European tour in December 1974, Artimus quickly got the nod as Skynyrd's new drummer.

The years Artimus played with Skynyrd were the years that solidified the legend behind the band. Quickly developing into one of the nation's top touring draws with a grueling schedule of 300 shows a year, the constant work and touring paid off. By October 20, 1977, Skynyrds songs had become radio staples.

More than just a "tribute" to Lynyrd Skynyrd a tribute to the man that defined it. Artimus Pyle has said " If it wasn't for Ronnie, no one would know my name." Since his departure from Skynyrd in 1991 , Artimus Pyle's career has led him down an amazing path of solo records and projects culminating into one the finest tributes to southern rock royalty. The Artimus Pyle Band is a high energy, true to the music, and true to the era rock group. One of the few that is on the road today. Artimus Pyle, Brad Durden, Jerry Lyda, Dave Fowler, and Scott Raines are not only a group of friends and contemporaries but a group with some of the most seasoned musician in the southeast.

Guest Biography:

Young Woman on a Mission

I was born in New Britain, CT and raised in Southington, CT. I am also an only child. When I was younger, I was very athletic. I was always playing sports and being active. During the summers I lived on a beach, it was always my favourite spot to be.

When I got into high school I became a God-mother. Today, my God-daughter is three years old. I focus on spending time with her and help her to become the woman that she is capable of being. This was one of the biggest events in my life because it gave me a responsibility to care for her for the rest of my life. My God-daughter, Brooklyn, is one f the main reasons that I want to do well in life.

Spinal Fusion

Two of the hardest events that I have overcome in my life are my back surgeries. Having one in 2010 and one in 2012, I had a rough high school career. I was in and out of the hospital and finally ended with rods and screws holding up my spine. I look at these events as a learning source teaching me that I can push through anything standing in the way of me being successful.

Haiti Mission

In high school, I also got into missionary work. I began going on trips to Haiti. There, I stay at an orphanage. I help take care of the children, I make home visits around the village, I visit the sick and elderly, and I raise money to help it become a better place. I have started leading my own trips to Haiti during the summer. I also spent Spring Break '14 performing mission work in New Orleans, Louisiana. While I was there we helped to paint the exterior of a house, put up walls in another house, and even paint one woman's porch and living room along with gardening work and talking with the locals. Missionary work is something that is very important in my life and something that I see myself doing for the rest of my life.

One day I hope to own my own non-profit organization in Haiti.

Al is a loyal, focused, motivated, hard-working, confident, and realistic person. In addition, having a good sense of humor has allowed her to build long-lasting relationships. Throughout her career, these attributes have served her well.

Success doesn't fall from the sky, it takes hard work, dedication, and commitment to winning. As a voracious reader and a serial question-asker, she is constantly in search of knowledge.

Al spends her free time drag racing in the NHRA D1 Circuit, doing yoga, volunteering in Haiti and the local community church, and cooking.

Joe Louis Walker picked up the guitar as a child, and by the time he was 16, was an in-demand musician on the local club scene, regularly backing touring blues artists rolling through town. As a 16-year-old, he was the house guitarist at San Francisco’s famed musical playground, The Matrix, where he played with or opened shows for everyone from Lightnin’ Hopkins to Jimi Hendrix to Thelonious Monk. In addition to his work at The Matrix, he was a regular at Bill Graham’s famed Fillmore West. San Francisco’s music scene was quickly becoming a melting pot of blues, jazz and psychedelic rock, and Walker was right in the center of it. These ear-opening surroundings explain the ease with which Walker blends blues, rock, gospel, jazz and country, making it seem as if the walls between the genres never existed in the first place.

The blues legends Walker accompanied shared not only musical knowledge but also their personal wisdom with the teenage up-and-comer. Fred McDowell, Ike Turner, Albert King, Freddie King, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Lightnin’ Hopkins and many others taught, fed and chastised the youngster. Blues icon Willie Dixon told him to set his sights high. “What’s your style? You need your own sound,” Dixon preached. Walker took the advice to heart and developed his own fiery, melodic and always unpredictable guitar attack.

Walker met legendary guitarist Michael Bloomfield in 1968 and the two became fast friends. Bloomfield introduced Walker to many of the day’s top rockers, including Sly Stone, Carlos Santana, Steve Miller, Bob Weir (of the Grateful Dead), Jorma Kaukonen (of Jefferson Airplane) and even jazz legend Wayne Shorter. Bloomfield helped push Walker’s blues in a more rock-fueled direction, and he became the single biggest influence on the young Walker’s sound. The two shared an apartment for years and remained close friends until Bloomfield’s death in 1981.

Walker has released 24 albums and toured the world virtually non-stop. He has garnered four Blues Music Awards (and has been nominated a whopping 52 times) and holds an international reputation as one of the blues’ most prolific and talented stars. He’s also recorded as a guest with some of the blues world’s best-known artists, including appearances on Grammy-winning records by B.B. King and James Cotton.

His latest release is entitled BLUES COMIN' ON joined by a host of talented friends and peers on this superb studio album.
