Guest Biography:

Will is a gifted individual who has profoundly touched and changed people's lives for over thirty years.

He has a BA Degree in Psychology with practical training in Addiction Counseling as well as Group Therapy and individual counseling.

Further to this, he has developed a therapeutic approach to doing deep-level counseling that involves working with the subconscious as well as connecting with the High Self spiritual aspect of one’s Being. He calls this method Trinary Regression Therapy, which also involves the understanding and knowledge of other lives and their impact on the individual’s present life. Trinary Regression Therapy takes one’s focus away from the Binary programming and opens doors to one’s spiritual, multi-dimensional Being. Will has had great success using Trinary Regression Therapy as a way to understand and address deep-seated issues and traumas. These issues include such things as Satanic Ritual Abuse, Relationship Issues, Abundance and Worthiness Issues and Alien Abductions.

Will has a natural gift to lead his clients on a deep inner journey of self-discovery and self-healing. His approach is innovative, cutting-edge and powerful in its impact, while at the same time is compassionate and sensitive. Using his wealth of experience in deep spiritual matters, Will is able to journey with his clients into the inner realms and thus is able to assist them on their personal inner quests.

Because of his keen interest in metaphysics, Will has also developed, to a high degree, his intuitive and psychic abilities. As a result, he became a professional Tarot Reader, working at international levels. This developed into the capacity to channel the high force of consciousness known as Cosmic Awareness, a role he has served exclusively for the last ten years.

Cosmic Awareness is the Force of Consciousness that spoke through Edgar Cayce, and who speaks again today through Will Berlinghof as Planet Earth and Humanity go through these critical transformative times.

Will has gained insight, awareness, wisdom and knowledge of current events and how hidden agendas are at work to affect Humanity. He is able to synergise disparate information to bring forth new awareness of how things are linked, to have a clear discernment of what is really happening with world events. Thus he is well-suited to the role of commentator, addressing and discussing world issues, and bringing an understanding of the circumstances of these times, how it all comes together and what it means for Humanity. He is able to project a broader and deeper perspective of what is truly going down.

Due to his continued dedication and his own journey of self-discovery, Will is well-equipped to stand as one who can help make sense of this paradigm and how to best navigate the issues facing Humanity. His diligence has earned him international repute and clients from around the world and he presents himself for further service as Humanity and Gaia move through this exciting and challenging transformation.

ABOUT WALDEN THREE PROJECT

The Walden Three Project has developed an engineering of a super-efficient, car-free, sustainable city that uses extensive recycling, permaculture, and integrated, co-generation, pollution-free factories to manufacture most of what its citizens consume. The project is based upon ideas from many different disciplines, which have been time-tested. The city is built with proven technology available today.

Anything that saves labor and resources makes us richer as a whole. Our engineering model is apolitical. It is just a labor and resource saving device. It frees them for whatever the political-economic body wants. Our model allows political systems to maximize their available labor and resources. Thus the underlying basis of economics: conservation. There is no need to "take" from the rich to solve our economic problems. This is a common economic fallacy. In fact, the rich will profit and benefit greatly from what we propose here.

Libertarians, socialists, objectivists, communists, fascists, capitalists, or a combination of economic systems can use our hypothetical city-factory-machine. Libertarians or objectivists could float such a city in international waters free of all governments and "freeloaders" (see abandoned novel - New Hong Kong). Communists and far left socialists can use it to eliminate capitalists. One of our plans is built from mud and starts in a prison (see current novel in progress: Walden Three).

While there is no one solution for everyone, most need and prefer some group's economic and political compromise. Our compromise has "radical", "middle-american", "conservative", "liberal", "capitalist", "socialist", "religious", "atheist" and other components. Anything that must be pure, must fail. A world wide system must allow for all.

Please comment. We invite you to play with the model. Please correct us. Give us your insights and add to it. Use what you like. Everything we create is free and without copyright. Why are we doing this? Selfishness! The founder, chief benefactor, and CEO of Walden Three realizes he does not need any more material things. He finds more money and things to take care of boring, while helping and seeing people change for the better is fun. A material thing can only give you a good feeling and has a cost. A spiritual act or gift returns a better feeling and, on average, a profit -- usually the beneficiary will return the favor or pass it along, which eventually comes back to the giver with a profit. Money is a merely a symbol, open to interpretation. Feelings are real. A better world to live in produces a cornucopia of good feelings, a huge profit.

Updated 7/13/11 .

Energy:
The city recycles “waste” energy from its factories and electric generation plant by piping steam to heat air and water for businesses and homes throughout the city. This is the same method used by factory towns of old New England. Steam is also used to power absorption refrigeration for cooling of buildings, the same basic process used in propane-powered refrigerators in motor homes. Thus, the city is heated and cooled essentially for free (there is the cost of piping, maintenance, etc.) and the electricity normally used by cities for heating and cooling is saved, more than quadrupling efficiencies of today’s public utilities. Electric power required for motors, engines, electronics, etc. is generated with combined-cycle gas-turbine technology fueled by synthesis gas made by converting biomass and organic waste materials in a plasma gasification unit.

Transportation and Freight:
Standardized packaging and a collection system designed for long-term use and convenience maximizes recycling efforts. There are no automobiles or trucks within the city though there are rental companies on its perimeter. Recycling, freight delivery, and personal transport is streamlined with a computerized, luxurious, and extensive mass transit system. Transportation needs are further minimized by home offices, video conferencing rooms, and super high-speed Internet facilities.

Health Care:
Insurance, as well as supplemental programs like Medicaid, would not be needed because Walden Three considers healthcare, from cradle to grave for all conditions, a necessity. Instead of taxing businesses, the city provides and manages healthcare through its community service system.

Hospitals would be available for serious procedures like surgery, however, the emphasis would be on nursing stations located in each building and at-home care. Using the city’s Cybernet, which would have the latest, reliable medical information and remote observation and data collection, nurses and physicians would make initial evaluations. Nursing stations are located in each building for more thorough initial examinations and scheduled exams by physicians.

In sum, Walden Three provides quality care to every citizen, not sub-standard care that views each person as a group of risk factors or ‘the best care [your limited] money can buy.’

Education:
Education and training from pre-school to post-graduate is free. The school system is based on the student’s worthwhile, realistic life goals which they set for themselves with the aid of counselors. The life goals are made relevant to the person's age. Of course, those goal will mature as the child matures. If a child wants to be a fireman, the teacher says, “Okay, we will start training you to be a fireman, but to be a fireman you’ll have to know all about gases, heat energy, combustion, etc. To learn that, you’ll need to know math, reading, etc.” Thus, school would be more personal, exciting, and useful. From the beginning, children are not schooled in classrooms, but at home using programmed, computerized learning systems. The theory they learn on the computers is combined with skill training learned by participating in running the city, where it is safe for them.

Employment, Avocation, & Leisure:
Every individual can have a job that he or she enjoys, for life. The members of the community work at jobs running the city, their community service in return for the “free” items the city provides. Since the city produces the majority of what citizens consume, all citizens are guaranteed employment. Because of the huge increase in efficiency brought by rational planning and technology that minimizes waste, the citizens need only to work a small part of today’s work week. Their much increased free time can be spent starting a new business, working for someone else, with their family, on artistic endeavors, sports, education, travel, or whatever they desire. Moreover, working together to run the community builds a bond and an understanding of the city's problems and advantages among the citizens. With the citizens’ working knowledge, continuous improvements to the city come naturally.

Business/Economics:
We conclude that the solution lies in a mixed economy, an intelligent combination of capitalism and socialism tended by people who receive incentives based on the quality of their work, the best of each system. In fact, every country uses a mixed economy. All families from the beginning of time have shared work, rewards, and facilities among the family, a socialism system. Social Security, education for all children, child abuse laws, protection of the environment, work safety regulations, etc--all elements of socialism--would be preserved. Every citizen is guaranteed health care, education, food, clothing, housing and utilities in return for their part-time labor running the city.

No Taxes: The Walden Three Project has no sales, income, property, tangible, or intangible taxes, nor fees. People who want non-residential locations pay a fixed rent (no percentage over-rides or escalation) to offset construction costs and maintenance. The city fosters new businesses by providing online support and efficient customer service that waits on you, not you waiting on them. Citizens can apply for an available “bricks and mortar” business location, or pay for the construction of a new one using materials produced locally at cost. Each apartment and business complex has a state-of-the-art office support complex for printing, copying, etc., as well as secretarial services, meeting rooms, and catering facilities. Designers, engineers, inventors, machinists, sample-makers, factories, artists, and writers are connected online. Thus the city assists businesses in turning new, important ideas and inventions into reality.

Since needs, by definition, must be met, the city is the single supplier providing citizens with all utilities, waste processing, transportation, and housing in return for the citizens’ community service time without the unnecessary costs of promotion, duplication of facilities, accounting, legal assistance, etc. The city maximizes service by redirecting this previously wasted labor towards improving the quality of its products or services. The system rewards those that do their job well with vigorous, positive feedback, social prerogatives, and reduced work time. The cybernation of services (computers and high speed internet in every home and business) combined with ample staffing reduces wait time to a minimum.

Life Skills, Philosophy, Psychology:
The city guides people to set realistic and worthwhile life goals. Part of a realistic goal is a realistic plan to achieve it. The school and socialization systems train citizens in Rational Emotive Behavior Theory [REBT], the modern, scientific combination of Stoicism and Epicureanism. This teaches rational acceptance of life and one’s self, and how to control emotions, preventing or correcting emotional and thinking problems early.

The city improves behavior by helping people find and set practical life goals. They are then trained to reward themselves as they accomplish short-term goals to that end.

Law/Crime Prevention:
George Washington said, "The firmest pillar of democracy is the true administration of justice." Note that he said justice, not law. Recall that it was illegal to be a Jew during the Nazi rule of Germany.

The city's civil law system is based on giving "value for value received" using bona fide [good faith] contracts, not "let the buyer beware" in which the clever defraud the average. When a person enters into a contract, it should be with confidence that the legal outcome will be fair. The legal system is streamlined with legal aids staffed sufficiently to give everyone fast, equal legal protection.

Since everyone is provided with necessities, crime would be greatly reduced, the remainder of crime would largely be caused by mental problems. Mothers and fathers would never have to steal to feed or take care of their babies.

The city’s solution to preventing crime is the same as a small town or village: Watchful eyes--everyone knows what is happening. All public areas are viewable from any computer terminal, open-access video observation, so anyone in the city can see through any public camera at any time. However, there will not be cameras in areas where there is an expectation of privacy: dressing rooms, public restrooms, at home, or in the car. The system allows a parent to "follow" their child to the playground or school room and report any bullying or accidents to the authorities for immediate attention. Parents can watch what their children are being taught and how they are handled by their teachers. All of the city’s government buildings, bureaus, and meetings would be viewable at all times, true “government in the sunshine“.

The system interrupts anti-social behavior at its start, swiftly, without revenge. The city's socialization (corrections) system does not lock up one disturbed individual with three others in an eight-by-ten foot room for decades and expect them to come out knowing how to get along with normal people. Rather, the city assigns police officers and councilors that stay with the troubled or violent individuals at all times during their socialization, physically and electronically, until the offenders can control their emotions and function well in society.

Thus, the criminal system will be swift and sure, but never harsh. As behaviorist B. F. Skinner discovered, punishment is a poor teacher, a last resort. Skinner’s experiments proved the certainty of the reward or punishment determines its effectiveness, unless the punishment is so brutal it damages the subject for life. If someone gets away with something ten times, they have been rewarded ten times. If police then get lucky and catch him or her, whether they punish that person or not, the net effect is ten rewards and one punishment, a net reinforcement of the unwanted behavior. The offender knows the punishment is a fluke, and is not likely to happen again for some time. However, if the person gets punished and the reward taken back each and every time, that person will stop the unwanted behavior quickly.

Spirituality:
We have observed that all the major religions have a universal message: Love and help each other. Acceptance, mercy, and meaningful work are prerequisites to happiness. There is no wealth without happiness.

Walden Three is a work in progress. We invite criticism, comments, improvements, and suggestions. The burden of proof is upon us.

Anti-war campaign

Walter had been opposed to the Vietnam War, a source of contention with his father, but had not used his money to act on his convictions. On February 27, 2003, Walter spent US$125,000 to take out a full-page advertisement in the New York Times attacking Secretary of State Colin Powell's justification for the impending 2003 invasion of Iraq. It was headlined "Powell Lied?" describing Powell's February 5, 2003 speech to the United Nations Security Council—the New York Times insisted on adding the question mark. Walter took out similar advertisements in English and Spanish in local newspapers in Santa Barbara, California, where he was living. His stance was unpopular; posters he attached to his house were torn down, and a rock was put through his car's window. Walter did not repeat the advertisement.

Walter also created a "Chicken-Hawk-In-Chief" design mocking George W. Bush which he put on t-shirts, sweatshirts, and a full costume. In May 2004, a Williamstown, Vermont middle school student gained national attention when he wore the t-shirt and was required to cover parts of the design depicting Bush drinking and snorting cocaine. On August 30, 2006, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the school was wrong to censor the shirt, and on June 29, 2007 the US Supreme Court rejected an appeal, allowing that ruling to stand.

Reopen 9/11 campaign

Walter began a series of advertisements about the September 11, 2001 attacks in October 2004, which included full page ads in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and 30 second cable television spots on CNN, Fox News, and ESPN. They implied that no plane flew in to The Pentagon, and that 7 World Trade Center was brought down by internal explosives. They called for a new investigation into what happened on September 11, and referred viewers to the website reopen911.org.In conjunction with the campaign, Walter sponsored an October 2004 Zogby poll, which found that 66% of New York City residents wanted a fuller investigation of the events of September 11.

Walter's theory is that the hijacked planes were replaced by remote controlled drones that were crashed into the World Trade Center and Pentagon, while the buildings were brought down by preset explosives,to create a pretext for the war in Afghanistan and 2003 invasion of Iraq. At the web site, Walter offered a US$10,000 reward for a mathematical proof of how the World Trade Center buildings collapsed from the fire and impact, the way the 9/11 Commission said.By 2005, the reward had grown to $1,000,000 for proof that explosives were not used in the collapse of the World Trade Center.

On November 10, and November 11, 2004, Walter appeared on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360°, where he debated journalist Gerald Posner about the claims made by the campaign. On May 9, 2005, Walter was featured on the "Conspiracy Theories" episode of Showtime cable television program Penn & Teller: Bullshit!,

As of December 2004, Walter estimated the total cost of the campaign at more than $3 million; by December 2005 it rose to $5.5 million.

In May 2005, Walter financed European tours of speaking engagements for William Rodriguez and his lawyer in the Rodriguez v. Bush lawsuit, Philip Berg. Rodriguez claims that he saved hundreds of people in the World Trade Center who were trapped behind locked fire escape doors.

In 2006, Walter traveled to Malaysia with Rodriguez, appearing at a conference with Michael Collins Piper. Rodriguez and Walter also traveled to Venezuela.
Confronting the Evidence

Walter produced a video documentary called Confronting the Evidence in 2005 and distributed over 300,000 free copies on DVD, including one to every household in Tony Blair's Sedgefield constituency.Confronting the Evidence was broadcast on Italian Rai Tre television on September 24, 2006 at 9:00 p.m., during the Report program.

MUSICAL GUEST GRANT MALOY SMITH

Grant was born in Jacksonville, Florida about 60 miles from the Georgia state line. His dad was a pilot in the US Navy, so the family moved around a lot during Grant’s childhood, living in Corpus Christi, Texas, San Diego California, Pensacola Florida, and finally up to Rhode Island.

Grant’s maternal grandmother was from the mountains of Kentucky, and even though she moved eastward, she loved that bluegrass sound for the rest of her life, and she encouraged Grant to appreciate it. She gave Grant a real gift – an appreciation for traditional American music.

Like most kids his age, Grant became infatuated with the Beatles, and he taught himself to play the guitar. But he was always good with a pen or paintbrush, and he seemed destined to become an artist one day. So after high school he dutifully headed off to art school. But music had already taken took hold of him, and he left art school to pursue it.

Despite the fact that his early work was primarily in the pop/rock genres, there was always something “country” about his songs. They all told stories, and painted pictures with words. After hearing from more than one friend and colleague that he should give American Roots a try, he finally gave it a try, and never looked back.

“It all got synthesized in my heart and mind during those years, and it changed me forever. I will never go back to writing songs like I did before. Don’t get me wrong: they were good songs, I hope, but they didn’t express everything that I was trying to capture. There is an honesty and immediacy to the kind of songs I am writing now. Sometimes they are painfully honest, but that’s what makes them connect with people: honesty.”

Americana is a celebration of American roots music, a unique blend of Bluegrass, Country, Pop, Rock and Folk music. The reviews are coming in, and they are nothing short of exuberant, and filled with high praise for Yellow Trailer.

This breakthrough album is available for digital downloads from iTunes, CDbaby.com, Amazon, and other places … and in physical CDs (and downloads)

In his next album, Dust Bowl, Grant picks up where Yellow Trailer left off, and carries on down that same road, but with new twists and turns. According to the songwriter, “You can’t keep writing the same record over and over again; you have to reach beyond where you think you can go, and challenge yourself. So that’s what I am doing. The next album uses the great environmental and economic disaster of the mid 1930s as its context. It’s not a documentary, but the songs are set against that as the backdrop. That place and time is very special to me. The people are real, and what they went through was incredible.”

“I was drawn to this era because of Woody Guthrie, who captured so much of this time in his music, since he lived that time. For me the most interesting aspect of the Dust Bowl is the great migration of southerners and mid-westerners westward, to places like Bakersfield, California. They brought their traditional instruments and roots songs and sensibility with them, spreading my kind of music nationwide.”

“The most fun I have had on Dust Bowl so far are all of the collaborations with other artists. So far the list includes finger style acoustic guitar master Peter Janson, and Jody Quine, a Vancouver-based singer/songwriter. Guest appearances by several other Grammy nominated artists including flautist and world musician Wouter Kellerman of South Africa, and amazing New Age Indian composer and arranger Ricky Kej.”

Baptist de Pape bio:

Baptist de Pape is a spiritual explorer, author, and filmmaker.  He attended the Tilburg Law School in The Netherlands, but after graduation - and with a lucrative job offer before him - he underwent a spiritual awakening that caused him to abandon the strictly practical world of law.  De Pape explores the world of the heart and what it means to live from that space, rather than living merely from the head.  This change of emphasis led directly to some astonishingly synchronistic events.  From his spiritual awakening blossomed the concept of a movie in which he would interview the leading spiritual teachers, authors and scientists of today.  Baptist went on to film and become good friends with many of his interviewees and was generously helped by Gary Zukav, Eckhart Tolle, Maya Angelou, Isabel Allende and others.

For the past four years Martin has toured the world with his own band to play the "classic" music from the Jethro Tull catalogue, but also many new tracks written by Martin including his new album, BACK TO STEEL.

For 43 years Martin Barre was the renowned guitarist of Jethro Tull, and his role in the band cannot be overestimated. Bruce Eder wrote on allmusic.com, “His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record and in concert.”

His unique sound and style contributed enormously to their success, which includes several chart topping albums, eleven gold and five platinum albums, a Grammy Award for CREST OF A KNAVE in 1988, and album sales exceeding 60 million units. Tull continues to be played worldwide, representing an important part of classic rock history.

Martin’s guitar playing has earned him respect and recognition; he’s been voted among the best ever in the USA and in the UK for his playing on “Aqualung.” Beyond numerous Jethro Tull albums, Martin has plied those award-winning chops with many other distinguished artists, including Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa and Chris Thompson. He has shared a stage with such legends as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

Redoubtable drummer George Lindsay, alongside super songwriter and bass player Alan Thomson form the core of Martin’s accomplished band, with vocals performed by the talented and distinctive Dan Crisp. All members are committed to giving the Tull fans and a broader audience the chance to hear tracks not performed for many years with a few surprises along the way.

Guest Biography:

Music is my life. It hasn’t always been what I’ve done, but its always been the backbone of my experiences. I hear a song, and I don’t just hear the song, I feel where I was, the time it reminds me of and the memories that it brings. Life makes little sense to me without music. It has been something that is constant in a world filled with change.

I have been day dreaming about my own involvement in music since I was a child. It was something that I was always attracted to, but nothing I ever thought I had within me. I used to think that I knew who I was. I told myself many things about who I was and I believed them. One of those things was that I didn’t have any musical talent and it would always be a dream.

In 2010, I sought help for my drug addiction. When my mind cleared I began challenging the many things that I was convinced about myself. I bought a guitar and taught myself the basics. I thought why not try some singing lessons. Next thing I knew I was in a studio recording songs that I had written. Watching my music come to life has been the most satisfying thing I have ever experienced.

That’s what music is for me. Its my way of showing myself that I can be anything that I want. It’s shown me that if I let go of what I believe about myself, that I might just be something more. With music I’m outside myself and it makes me believe that anything is possible. It is my outlet of expression, freedom and authenticity.

CONGRESSIONAL CAMPAIGNS: Bill's campaign for Congress in 2000 was key in keeping the U.S. House in majority control, as his opponent, Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, had to give up plans of campaigning for other candidates. Gephardt boasted of being the next "Speaker" but instead had his toughest re-election, spending $6 million against Federer's $3 million from 35,000 contributors across America, in the nation's 3rd most expensive Congressional race that year.(US News & World Report, 11/7/06, listed nationally among the most expensive House races of 2000 & 2004). President Bush's uncle, William H.T. "Bucky" Bush, co-chaired Bill's finance committee. Speaker Dennis Hastert, Majority Leader Dick Army, Conference Chairman J.C. Watts, Jr., Ambassador Alan Keyes, Phyllis Schlafly, William J. Murray, David Limbaugh, Chief Justice Roy Moore and other national leaders campaigned for Bill. Written and/or radio endorsements were received from Pat Boone, Chuck Norris, Ted Nugent, Art Linkletter and Dr. James Dobson. "Highly effective political machinery" was Gephardt's reluctant admission of Federer in an appeal letter, as Bill received the most votes ever against him! The same week Bill won in court against Gephardt's machine, Gephardt announced he would not seek re-election. Bill ran in 2004, winning Jefferson County and receiving 47% of the vote, the highest number of votes received in Missouri's 3rd Congressional District by a Republican since statehood.

After college, Bill worked for Federer Realty, founded in 1913 by his grandfather, William A. Federer, who was president of the St. Louis Board of Realtors, as was his father Richard L. Federer, building large portions of the city and county. His uncle and namesake taught at St. Louis University, led retreats at White House Retreat Center and worked with native Americans, seniors and inner-city poor. His father's cousin, Charles A. Federer, Jr., was founder of Sky & Telescope Magazine at Harvard.

Bill worked in real estate, oil & gas industry (Santa Fe Industries `81-`84), and held positions with community organizations, charity groups, churches - working with youth, families, elderly and minorities. He served as a Scoutmaster, having been an Eagle Scout.

Susan received the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Community Service by U.S. Senator John Danforth in 1980 for being spokesperson of the Missouri/Illinois Red Cross Blood Services and working with elderly/handicapped. CHRIS BENNETT

Singer, Pianist, Composer

CHRIS BENNETT, one of America’s premier entertainers and artists, has released SAIL AWAY: The TAHITI SESSIONS, her 11th studio CD recording, securing a revered place as one of an intimate handful of successors to Peggy Lee, June Christy, Shirley Horn, Anita O’Day and the classic American female jazz vocalists. “She’s divine”, raves Sandy Shore, of Smooth Jazz Radio, “her crystal clear voice, jazzy phrasing, and dynamic range has placed her in a small handful of the legends before her.”

At times a stylist and, more often, the singer of self-composed music and lyrics, she is always a genuine artist in performance A lifetime of entertaining combined with a disciplined regimen of daily practice and consistent training is evident in masterful live performances and timeless studio recordings.
Like songbirds Helen Morgan, June Christy and Anita O’Day, Bennett is originally from Illinois, where she grew up on a musical diet of Big Band melodies and Broadway show tunes. A love of performing lead to a passion for dance and, while in high school, she opened a dance studio at the age of 14. Bennett danced her way through college majoring in dance education and performance and, soon after, headed to UCLA and California to pursue her musical dreams.

With a dancer’s skills and a vocalist’s talent, Bennett was selected by Jim Nabors to join his Las Vegas revue which toured cross-country. Performing onstage every night in new venues, playing to fresh audiences in different cities, Bennett gained the confidence and experience of a seasoned professional. Soon, she would go on tour to headline her own shows across the globe. From choreographing her dancers to selecting the repertoire of her band, Bennett incorporated contemporary pop covers and jazz standards in her shows. She also cultivated a new passion: songwriting.

By her mid-twenties, Bennett was already a well-traveled woman and, certainly, a vocalist of the world. While on tour in Germany, she was scouted and hand- picked by multi-Grammy and multi-Academy Award winning composer/producer Giorgio Moroder to join the popular disco group Munich Machine. He chose Bennett to be the lead vocalist for their sophomore album which would contain a dance version of the Procol Harum rock classic A Whiter Shade of Pale. Bennett not only recorded the entire album, she also posed for the groundbreaking cover art. Bennett’s runway model’s body and movie star looks caused an international sensation and made for one of the highest charting and highest grossing disco albums of 1978.

A full fledged dance music diva under the guidance of Moroder, Bennett was signed to Casablanca Records as a songwriter and recording artist. She recorded as one half of Giorgio & Chris for the only duet album of Moroder’s entire career, Love’s In You, Love’s In Me. Her distinctly clear voice and high range also backed up some of Donna Summer’s biggest hits, most notably the certified Gold single Heaven Knows and the number one certified Platinum Live & More album. Bennett again made international headlines when the song she co-wrote and sang the theme from Midnight Express was nominated for a Grammy.

By the 1980s, Chris Bennett had established herself as a successful singer, songwriter and producer, occasionally singing back-up for Rita Coolidge and Johnny Mathis. Her songs were being recorded by the likes of Tina Turner and The Manhattan Transfer. She co-wrote and co-produced for The Three Degrees, the final Munich Machine album Body Shine and the Suzi Lane album Ooh La La. She also played a key role in producing and writing with up-and-coming Grammy-award winning Blues artist Keb Mo.

In the 1990s, Bennett reflected on her career as an accomplished singer, noteworthy producer, and popular songwriter. Having performed for others behind the scenes primarily throughout the 1980s, she made a promise to return to the recording studio and the concert stage, this time, for herself. It would also be a return to her first musical love: jazz.

A self titled CD release in 1993 marked the welcome return of Chris Bennett as lead vocalist. Utilizing the talents of celebrity musicians and introducing new artists, Bennett specialized in creating a musical experience of self composed pieces, some jazz classics, and a contemporary cover or two. The success of her debut jazz CD led to a series of future releases that capitalized on this combination. Jazz magazines critically praised her, noting “after a successful career as a background performer, it is a pleasure to welcome Chris Bennett to center stage.”

Since then, Bennett has been a staple of Jazz radio programmers and Music TV stations everywhere.

The success of her concerts, CD sales, and consistent critical triumphs have led to sold-out performances throughout Europe, New York supper clubs and Chicago cabarets. At home in Los Angeles, she continues to be a popular solo artist, but also keeps busy in her studio on the Venice Canals producing demos for a new Broadway show and recording tracks for a new “super-group” made up of Chris Bennett, Pattie Brooks, Suzi Lane, and Billie Kaman, called CLUB MAJESTIC, and featuring songs like YOUNG BOYS AND IT’S RAINING MEN, to be released in discos worldwide this summer.
Chris Bennett has 11 CDs available which include a Christmas Jazz CD, a Latin Jazz CD, and all girl CD called Girl Talk, two live CDs recorded in Berlin, and an import-only live CD released in 2004.

A humanitarian of the first order, she has also co-written and recorded a song in memory of the Holocaust survivors, Remember, as well as a song in support of marriage equality, Everybody Has The Right. Chris and fellow Disco Diva, Pattie Brooks, are currently performing the song at Marriage Equality events and their rousing dance anthem is charting on I-Tunes. An outspoken artist for social change and an advocate of community activism, locally and globally, Chris is often called upon to perform in benefit of organizations such as SHARE, The Torch Foundation, HoLa, and many others.

From disco diva to jazz chanteuse, the musical journey of Chris Bennett has been the evolution of an artist come full circle. An accomplished vocalist, pianist, composer and producer, she recently added Broadway musical composer to her repertoire.
Her live “Majestic Show” with full jazz orchestra will tour Europe this summer beginning in Berlin at the A-Trane in August and ending up in Zagreb, Croatia, on September 18th for Croatian National Television.

Her latest CD is a return to her roots as a singer-songwriter. Combining self-composed ballads and unusual jazz standards,
SAIL AWAY: THE TAHITI SESSIONS is her most powerful album to date… and her most personal.

Guest Biography:

Stan Mardula was born on November 25, 1948 in Tuxedo New Yok He Grew up in Sloatsburg New York with his two brothers John and Mark. He worked for Orange and Rockland Utilities in Spring Valley, New York for 32 years as Gas Serviceman, until he retired due to agent orange related health problems. He currently lives in Sun City West, Arizona with his wife Claire and they have been married for 44 years. Stan comes from a long line of family who served in the armed forces. War has affected Stan’s family for over 100 years.

Stan served in the U.S. army from September 1966 until June of 1969. In the Army he served 2 tours in Vietnam from March 18, 1967-June 4, 1969. He was with the 5th Battalion Automatic Weapons 2nd Artillery Self Propelled. He served on the M42A1 Dusters and tracked vehicles with two 40mm guns. He also served with the I battery 29th Artillery in fared search light jeeps.

John Mardula Stan’s oldest brother served in the Marine Corps from 1966-1970. He was a combat veteran who received 3 Purple Hearts and 5 air medals, the combat Air Crew wings for aerial combat and the Combat Action Ribbon for ground combat. John was crew Chief on Helicopters in Vietnam.

His Father was a Veteran of WW2 and he served in the Merchant marines from 1943-1945. His father received the Merchant Combat Bar with 2 Silver Service stars which denotes ships sunk due to enemy action.

His Father’s Brother Henry Mardula also served in the Merchant Marines with him until the ship they were on was torpedoed and sunk. Henry was wounded and his brother helped save him. After this incident they did not serve together again due to their mothers concern.

Stan’s father’s parents were from Poland and they had close relatives that served in the Austrian-Hungarian Army in WWI. Stan Also had a great uncle that was in the concentration camp at Auschwitz during WWII.

His mother was an Englishwoman who served in the Royal Air Force from 1943-1945. She lived in London and went through the Air Bombing and V1 and V2 rocket attacks from 1940-1945.

His mother’s father John Thomas Blackman (1878-1948) served in the British Army from 1914-1918 in France. While serving on the western front his brother was killed in action and his body was never found. During this time while in France his first wife died and he was left with 5 children. His eldest son John also served in the British Army in WWI. When he returned from his service, he married woman named Mary Richardson whose husband was also killed in the war. She had 5 children. They married after WWI and had 3 additional children together, Stan’s mother Ivy being one of them.

Stan planned to make the Army his career but after the second tour in Vietnam he was burned out. He was 20 years old when he was discharged and he felt like an old man. He feels a civil war began in his soul between the “old man” and the “Kid”.

The “kid” wanted to have fun and make up for the years that were lost to war. He wanted to date girls, go to college, the beach and take vacations. He wanted to have fun, meet new people his own age, buy a new car and experience the good things in life. He also wanted to be praised for serving his country and for his friends that were killed in Vietnam to be honored.

The “Old Man” was always putting a damper on things. The “Old man” questioned things to hide the pain. Stan turned to Alcohol. Stan had a few veterans he hung out with and they mostly kept to themselves, didn’t talk about the future and only lived for the day.

There was a song he identified with by Harry Nilsson called Everybody's talking at me. The lyrics “Everybody's talking at me I don't hear a word they're saying, only the echoes of my mind” really resonated with him. This was during the anti-war movement and the “Old Man” points out and says “Here is your reward for your service, demonization”. Without realizing it the “Old Man began to take control of his life. During this period in his life no one offered him any help. Stan knew something was wrong with him but he did not know what it was. He learned later in his life that he had all the classic symptoms of PTSD.

In April of 1970, he met the woman who was to become his wife. Stan’s feels she is the best thing that ever happened to him and still is. He often wishes he could go back in time and make-up for the heartache he caused the wonderful girl, who only wanted to love him with all her heart.

He married Claire in September 1971 and in 1977 they welcomed a daughter, Carrie. After years of heavy drinking, Stan went to his first AA meeting in 1978 and has not had a drink since. He says he was lucky that his two daughters never saw him drink. They welcomed their second Daughter Laura in 1979.

Stan was diagnosed with in 1992 with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from the VA and it was then, that he finally realized what is was he was dealing with and learned how to live with it. He feel it’s important for people to realize PTSD is very common, especially for those that have served or been through traumatic experiences.

This also helped Stan realize that many of his own family members suffered from PTSD as well. He remembers being told about his grandfather who had bad temper and was a raging alcoholic. His own father always kept to himself and worked constantly, had a bad temper and could not sleep well. His mother would often stay to herself and would stare at the wall for hours and suffered bouts of manic depression. She would also have night terrors where she would scream out in her sleep and never slept a lot. His Uncle Henry was like a rolling stone. Always moving around and never going anywhere. Stan feels that he and his brother were a lot alike in that they buried their pain, but then they got help for it.

Stan is the last combat veteran left in his family. The others including his brother John who died of Agent Orange related lung cancer, are all gone. He feels that due to his own experiences with his family and how the time he served in Vietnam affected him, that it’s necessary to get the word out about PTSD, and to let others know that there is help out there.

Stan served as a non-commissioned service officer for the DAV and has helped many veteran over the years get the benefits they were entitled to. Although he is no longer involved with the benefits side of things he is active in the American Legion, DAV, VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America and several other organizations to help veterans get the help and care they need.
