Living Colour Frontman Is Celebrating The 20th Anniversary of His Debut Solo Album HYMNS
Two-time Grammy-Award Winner Corey Glover, who is best known as the lead singer for the Platinum-selling band Living Colour, has announced that he will be performing a series of exclusive solo shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album HYMNS.
The East Coast tour kicks off April 21 in Buffalo, NY and is scheduled to run through June stopping in such cities as Rochester, NY, Baltimore, MD and more. According to Glover, fans can expect to hear songs from his first solo release as well as the “unexpected covers” that his shows have become known for.
HYMNS was released in the Spring of 1998 and many fans and critics believed it truly showcased Glover’s versatility as a singer and songwriter with its intricate mix of rock, folk, soul and even gospel. One of Glover’s proudest pieces of work, he’s excited to be performing songs from the album during the upcoming tour.
“It’s going to be great to celebrate this anniversary with my fans,” said Glover. “There’s nothing better than performing an intimate show and seeing, up close and personal, how these songs still resonate with the audience.”
As a founding member of Living Colour, Corey helped prove that not only could black guys kick out the jams, but that they could be embraced by a vast expanse of fans. Living Colour earned numerous industry awards including back-to-back Grammys for Best Hard Rock Performance of 1989 ('Cult of Personality') and 1990 (Time's Up) and emerged as one of the most influential rock acts of all time: regularly selling out arenas and selling millions of albums.
Glover has been called a true renaissance man. He not only fronts Living Colour, who will be heading back on tour later this year to continue to promote their latest album Shade, which peaked at #12 on the Billboard charts, but he’s also an accomplished actor. He has appeared in such films as Platoon and has starred in various television roles. Corey also play Judas opposite Ted Neeley in the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and has been seen in productions of Godspell and Fallen Angel.

Considered among most talented Russian cellists, Evgeny performs to international audiences since the age of 10, touring in Germany, France, England, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and the USA.
Evgeny was born into a musical family and studied at the Gnessin Music School (class of his father Professor Vladimir Tonkha.)
After graduating from the Russian Academy of Music, Evgeny was invited by Professor David Geringas to post-graduate studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. Since 2006, Evgeny has been collaborating with the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra. Under the baton of maestros Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado, Seiji Ozawa, Mariss Jansons and Daniel Barenboim, he regularly performs with the Berliner Philharmonie, Berlin’s Konzerthaus, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Hamburg Philharmonie and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich.
Among his achievements are the 1st Prize and the Golden Medal at the 12th International Cello Competition in the Czech Republic, the Special Jury Prize at the 13th International Tchaikovsky Competition, and prizes for the best performance of contemporary music.
He regularly performs at the Berliner Philharmonie, Berlin’s Konzerthaus, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Hamburg Philhamonie and at the Hall of Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich.
Evgeny is a resident participant of Russian and international festivals, such as “The Moscow Autumn”, the Sakharov Arts Festival in Nizhny Novgorod, “Homecoming” in Moscow, the Sofia Gubaidullina Festival, the Pablo Cazals Festival in Colmar, France, the Chopin Festival in London, Santander Festival in Spain, the Rodion Shchedrin Festival in Berlin, the Beauvais Cello Festival in France and the festival, dedicated to the 125th Anniversary of the Berliner Philahrmoniker. His name is registered in “The Golden Book of Russia’s Talents”.
He collaborates with a number of contemporary composers, such as Sofia Gubaidulina, MIkhail Bronner, Victor Suslin, Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, Artyom Vasiliev, Elena Langer,Anna Drubich.
The orchestra performances include the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie in Hamburg, Berliner Camerata, the Symphony Orchestras of Nizhny Novgorod, Toliatti and Ryazan and the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.
Since 2013 Evgeny lives in Los Angeles. In 2014 he won the first place “The best music Performance”.

KARL VINCENT
Karl Vincent was raised in the East Bay of San Francisco Bay Area. His deep passion for music started at an early age as he began his music studies at the age of 10 on the guitar, later the violin, and then moved to the bass at 13. From this point on, music experiences came to him from many directions – orchestra, chamber music, jazz, popular music all became major areas of performance.
Rather than accept scholarship offers from many major universities and conservatories, Karl chose to move to Los Angeles and study. His teachers include bass masters Mercurio, Kestenbaum, Egilsson, and his mentor – legendary bassist Red Callender. UCLA took notice of Karl’s potential and he enrolled under a full music scholarship, one of several awards he would receive that also includes a grant from National Endowment for the Arts. While at UCLA, Karl met soon-to-be film composer Christopher Young and from there began a long successful association.
Young introduced Karl to several prominent musicians, composers, and contractors that recognized his unique skills and musicianship lifting his ubiquitous career as a bassist with the Long Beach Opera, Pacific Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the illustrious Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. While living his dream, he has been fortunate to have toured or performed with many notable artists such as Lou Rawls, Woody Herman, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Beyoncé, Josh Groban, Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and countless others; recording credits include Ray Charles, Danny Peck, Fergie, and Jennifer Hudson. Bob was a principal writer for the group of the same name. Born in Hove, Sussex in January 1948, Michael Des Barres is the son of the 25th Marquis Des Barres (himself descended from a legendary and heroic 13th century French knight) who blew most of his fortune on opium and ended up in jail, and a singer-dancer from Liverpool. Brought up in a Gothic Castle, then essentially raised from the age of eight by strippers (due to his mother’s regular incarceration from schizophrenia) and educated at Repton School, Derbyshire, Michael credits his mother for turning him onto Billie Holiday and Elvis and “incorporating fantasy as a form of defence.”
Michael Des Barres is a perfect example of how perseverance, hard work, and a positive outlook, can achieve many of life’s yearnings. Michael is an incredible story; he embraced his passion for the arts and has never looked back.
Acting lessons at the Corona Stage School led to a supporting cast member role as “Williams,” a London East End pupil on the 1967 British drama, To Sir, with Love starring Sidney Poitier. Besides acting, Michael loved music, especially American blues and rock ‘n’ roll. He formed his first band called the Orange Illusion in his teen years.
In 1972, Michael Des Barres became frontman for British glam rockers and cult icons Silverhead. The band eventually signed with Purple Records (owned by Deep Purple) and released two essential albums, Silverhead (1972) and 16 and Savaged (1973).
Silverhead became a significant role model for future generations of glam rock groups.
After the premature disbanding of Silverhead, Michael Des Barres formed Detective. The band was signed to Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label by legendary guitarist Jimmy Page in 1975. Detective featured guitarist Michael Monarch (Steppenwolf) and Tony Kaye (Yes). The group recorded three studio albums, Detective (1977), It Takes One to Know One (1978), and their third album was recorded on Atlantic Records but never released. (Michael remains friends with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant).
During this time Michael Des Barres appeared on the WKRP in Cincinnati television episode “Hoodlum Rock” as the infamous Sir Charles 'Dog' Weatherbee of the band Scum of the Earth. (Rob Zombie released a song called “Scum of the Earth” in 2000, and a heavy metal band by the name of Scum of the Earth was formed in 2003).
After the break-up of Detective, Michael Des Barres teamed up with Ex-Sex Pistol guitarist Steve Jones to form Chequered Past. The line-up also included bassist Nigel Harrison and drummer Clem Burke from Blondie, and guitarist Tony Sales formerly of Utopia. (The band recorded one album together called Chequered Past). Des Barres also became the lead singer of the touring and Live Aid version of The Power Station, a Duran Duran spin-off band.
Michael Des Barres penned the world-wide hit “Obsession” with Holly Knight, which became a huge hit for the LA new wave group Animation in 1985.
Des Barres states that he loves performing in front of a live audience in a rock ‘n’ roll band, but he’s also in love with all the arts, and in many shapes and forms. He’s also an accomplished actor and probably best known for playing the infamous villain ‘Murdoc’ on the popular TV series MacGyver and ‘Alex’ in the movie Pink Cadillac.
In April of 2012, Des Barres reunited with Silverhead and all his old mates for the first time in 38 years. The band performed to standing room only audiences in Japan. He’s also recently appeared on the television series The Finder, Suits, and the motion picture California Solo.
Michael has appeared in countless film, television, voice-over and stage roles and his credits are awe-inspiring.

Ivan Browne (vocals/rhythm guitar), Bill Bartlett (lead guitar), R.G. (Reg) Nave (organ), Steve Walmsley (bass) and Bill Albuagh (drums) - made its debut in 1967 with ‘Turn Around and Take A Look’. Its rudimentary style was then replaced by the measured approach of aspiring songwriting/production team, Paul Leka and Shelly Pinz. Together they created a distinctive Lemon Pipers sound, a sparkling mélange of sweeping strings and percussive vibraslaps exemplified on the group’s million-selling hit, ‘Green Tambourine’. The attendant album contained several songs - ‘Rice Is Nice’, ‘Shoeshine Boy’ - which were recorded in a similar style, but the set also contained the startling ‘Through with You’, an extended tour de force for Bartlett’s rampaging guitar work and a surprise for those anticipating easy-on-the-ear fare. Subsequent recordings failed to match their early success, and although a second album, Jungle Marmalade, offered several inventive moments, the Lemon Pipers were tarred as a bubblegum attraction on the strength of that first hit. The group broke up in 1969, although Bartlett later found success as a member of Ram Jam predominantly known for their hit single "Black Betty" in 1977.
IVAN and his wife ISA started traveling together in 1973. They performed in R.I., Hawaii, Alaska and New Hampshire, where they were married and started the IVAN and ISA BAND in October of 1975. Their musical travels continued to Florida and Ohio. In 1977, I and I settled down in Sonoma County, California, where they played 108 consecutive weeks as a house band at Santa Rosa's Ponderosa Club. In May 1981, they once again packed up their equipment and headed for the east coast and traveling through R.I., Ohio, and back to California. In March of 1985, IVAN and ISA bought a ridgetop home in Mendocino County from the "DOOR'S" Ray Manzarek's family.
