The San Francisco Police Department removed a 12-year veteran from street duty late Thursday after an initial investigation into complaints that the officer had struck a Giants fan in the face without provocation during a recent game at AT&T Park.

Miguel Ochoa, a 24-year-old Marine Reserve corporal from Mountain View, says he was in the bleachers during the ninth inning of a Giants-Dodgers game July 13 when Officer Anton Collins, who was patrolling the stadium, struck him in the face, bloodying his nose.

Just moments before, Ochoa had playfully knocked the Dodgers cap off a friend\'s head and thrown it down the stairs, apparently prompting an usher to summon police...
