The quake, which registered at a magnitude of 2.7, struck at [12:35 AM EST Monday 6 November], as heavy rain was pouring down throughout the regon. It was centered less than two miles southwest of the downtown area, nearly 10 miles underground. KOIN News 6 and other media outlets were suddenly flooded with calls, as were regional fire and rescue dispatch centers around the greater Portland region. There are no reports of serious damage, but thousands felt it.
