Some other comments attributed to Matthew Ward indicate more wishful thinking (on his Mom\'s part?), than the facts on the ground.

Example:

: MATTHEW: To address Israel\'s intentions in Lebanon, I clarify that the
: intentions are of the Zionists in control there, not the country\'s people
: who long have been weary of warring and destruction within their borders
: and in nearby nations.

--in fact, a main reason the Olmert Administration is pressing forward with the assault in Lebanon to root out the Hezbollah is because the majority of Israelis DEMAND IT...were he to back down, his government would probably collapse.

The Ehud Barak Administration pulled out of Lebanon in 2000, and most Israelis hoped this would bring peace on that border. It didn\'t. The Ariel Sharon administration pulled out of Gaza in 2005, and most Israelis hoped this would bring peace on that border. It didn\'t.

And so now most Israelis support the all-out offensive against Islamic extremists in Lebanon and Gaza.
