I met people from the Mena airport vicinity who knew people involved and validated many the specifics I had learned from Daniel Hopsicker website: madcowproductions. Daniel has investigated it for years like no one else and has the best account of the historian info. There are details I learned from a local from Mena as well. Daniels book Barry and the Boys is on my buy list. However Amazon jacked the price up to 100.00 (maybe to keep people from reading it? Not sure but I will buy from Daniels website as you get two books and they are signed! Plus it helps him survive. Getting actual facts is so rare these days! Glad someone has such high integrity.
I LOVED that the movie came out here in Arkansas. Strange phenomenon though is that they only had one poster for a display window, the other display window just has an 8 1/2 x 11 home printer sign which says "American Made" I complained to the theater. Then my sister text me from CA and her theater only had one display poster as well. There were some major lawsuits over the movie from Barry Seals family and regarding the early helicopter crash which set the movie's release back. If I recall the first pics I saw of Tom Cruise was very heavy .. he looked a bit grumpy. So the later version Cruise is his normal weight and I think it worked better. I have been telling many of my friends who know little about our true CIA history to see it as a first step to understanding how complicated it can get especially when we make our money for the secret space program via activities that do go through the regular accounting books. Bake sales don't generate enough income for building technology which is 100 years advanced than our current.
I suggest anyone you know that need to have their eyes more wide open- to see this movie. It will educate them plus gently bring them up to speed. Everyone I know whom have seen it really enjoyed it.
